Dyno Sheet

'89 Suzuki GSXR

 Essentially , the engine i used in the 7/11 was the motor that came out of my GSXR 1100 M , just before I sold it . In that bike it recorded a peak of 148bhp & 92ftlb of torque .

Changes for the 7/11 included ;

a Yoshimura Duplex race exhaust system , replacing the Micron 2000 race system on the 1100M .

Mikuni RS 38mm Radial  Flatslide Carbs , replacing the Dynojetted Mikuni 40mm CV carbs.

Smaller Inlet rubbers ( to suit the RS38's ) matched to the head , and 1.5mm Oversize inlet valves.

  The 7/11 was ran on the Dyno after about 4 days on the road - just to ensure that it wasn't running too weak before i took off to the Isle of Man TT festival, and initially recorded 157 rwhp.

Later on ( with a few more miles under it's belt ) , the RS38 carbs were set up properly - luckily only minimal adjustments away from the stock mikuni settings were necessary  . The bike then recorded 160.1 bhp & 92ft lbs torque.

12bhp is not a massive improvement on paper , but the Yoshimura system had got rid of the huge dip in the power & torque curves that was very noticeable on the road . This combined with the vastly improved response of the flatside carbs , and the extra 12 peak horse power - made the significantly lighter 7/11 a much much quicker bike than the 1100M.
