Dyno Sheet '86 Suzuki GSX R 750 G
The above chart shows just how knackered the stock Mikuni VM29 flatslides were on dean's 750G. When tested the spec was ; std 750G motor , std downpipes with home made link pipe and & cheap race can , S&B filters were fitted. The carbs were very worn , but Craig managed to increase the 69bhp we went in with to an impressive 94.8bhp by re jetting the carbs and removing the (very restrictive) S&B air filters. However the carburation was still all over the place below 5000 rpm with huge holes in the curve caused by the worn flatslides and crap exhaust. We later junked the flatslides and fitted some brand new 34mm CV Mikuni's off a later GSXR1100 , this time we used K&N air filters and a Dynojet stage 3 kit .The exhaust was replaced by Nexxus stainless steel 4:2:1 large bore downpipes , with custom made link pipe and a Yoshimura race can. In this guise , the 750G was set up at RMD Dyno . All the holes in the power had disappeared , and the new carbs were working really well . Peak power was up to 101 bhp and torque increased to 56 ftlbs , the biggest difference was in the low / mid range performance - it now revved extremely freely , and pulled like a train from idle all the way to the redline. Combined with the very low weight of the bike the performance was nothing short of MENTAL ! Thanks to Craig Taylor of Dyno Torque (Birmingham) Tel. 0121 772 2453
